Olive wood is prized for its swirling, golden-brown grain, and no two handles look quite the same. Motta turns it into a classic knob-and-waist handle and fits it to a 58 mm stainless steel base.

Base and build

The base has a flat face and a satin finish, with the Motta logo and ‘Made in Italy’ engraved on the side. At roughly 92 mm tall and 360 g it feels balanced rather than heavy, and the handle unscrews for cleaning. Olive wood is dense and naturally oily, so it handles daily use well; a light rub with food-safe oil now and then keeps the grain glowing. Each handle is unique, so yours will differ a little from the photos.
