Bright red anodising makes this 58 mm palm tamper easy to spot on a busy bench. Underneath is a polished stainless steel face that is completely flat, giving the puck a smooth, even top for water to pass through.

How the depth stop works

In addition, the red body is split into two parts: a knurled grip ring on top and a smooth collar below. Also, the base is threaded into the top ring, so turning it changes how far the face protrudes past the collar. Press until the collar touches the basket rim and the tamp is done at the same depth each time.
