Here is the calibrated 58 mm tamper dressed in timber. The handle has a strong striped grain in warm browns, and underneath it a spring mechanism stops you over-pressing the puck.

Even pressure, warm finish

Press down until the handle meets the base collar and the spring has done its job; the coffee bed gets the same force each time. The 58 mm base is polished stainless steel with a flat face that leaves a clean, level puck. It stands roughly 93 mm tall. Rinse the base after use and wipe the timber dry so the grain keeps its colour.
