Barista Milk Thermometer with Colour-Coded Dial
For new baristas the hardest part of steaming is knowing when to stop. This barista milk thermometer makes the target easy to spot: the yellow band on the dial covers roughly 50–70 °C, where most cafés finish milk for lattes and flat whites. Further round, pink and green bands mark hotter settings.
Features
- Dial with a 0–100 °C outer scale and a 30–210 °F inner scale
- Colour zones you can read at a glance while the wand is running
- Stainless steel probe with a clip for the side of a milk jug
- White protective sleeve with a pocket clip, handy behind a busy bar
- Analogue, so there is no battery to replace
Tips for Steaming
Fit the clip opposite the spout so the dial faces you. Stretch the milk in the first few seconds, then let it spin until the needle reaches the start of the yellow zone; it will creep up a little after the steam is off. For babyccinos and kids’ hot chocolate, stop well before the yellow.
