Drain valve piston for E61 groups
After each shot the E61 releases leftover pressure through a drain valve under the group. If water keeps dribbling into the drip tray or the puck stays soupy, this lower piston or its seal is the usual suspect.
Short brass body, flat drive key
It is a compact brass piece with a flat-sided key that engages the piston above it and a rubber face seal in the barrel. Being the shortest of the three E61 pistons, it is easy to tell apart on the bench.

Which machines take it
Old supplier notes list Bezzera, ECM, Rocket, Profitec, Isomac, La Pavoni, Grimac and Fiorenzato E61 machines; if yours is unusual, compare with the part you remove. It sits under the E61 middle infusion piston, and a 73×57×8 mm group seal is worth replacing in the same job.
We service E61 machines across Melbourne – see our repair and servicing page if you would like us to fit it for you.
