Milk Jug Thermometer with Stainless Dial
Steamed milk tastes sweetest at roughly 55–65 °C; much hotter and it starts to taste flat or scalded. This milk jug thermometer clips onto the side of your pitcher so you can watch the needle while you steam instead of judging by the feel of the jug.
Features
- Analogue dial, about 35 mm across, with Celsius and Fahrenheit scales (0–100 °C, 40–220 °F)
- Red needle plus a blue reference marker on the dial
- Stainless steel probe, about 210 mm long, that reaches the bottom of tall jugs
- Spring clip that holds it on the jug rim, hands free
- Fully mechanical, so there is nothing to charge
How to Use It
Clip it on before you start, with the probe tip in the milk but clear of the steam wand. Stretch the milk, then switch the steam off a few degrees before your target, because the needle keeps rising for a moment after you stop. Wipe the probe and rinse it after each jug.
