Digital Coffee Thermometer for Milk and Brewing Water
A digital coffee thermometer gives you an exact number rather than a needle position, which helps when you are dialling in pour-over, plunger coffee or tea as well as milk. Push the stainless probe into the liquid and read the screen a few seconds later.
Features
- LCD display in 0.1° steps
- Range −50 to 300 °C (−58 to 572 °F), switchable between °C and °F
- Stainless steel probe, about 116 mm long
- Hold button to freeze the reading, plus automatic power-off
- Runs on one button-cell battery
Where It Helps
Filter coffee usually brews best with water just off the boil, around 90–96 °C, while milk for espresso drinks is best stopped near 60–65 °C. A quick check with the probe takes the guesswork out of both. Wipe the probe after use and keep the display end out of the water.
