The Ulka EP5 is one of the most widely fitted vibration pumps in home espresso machines. The label reads Model E, Type EP5, 230 V 50 Hz 48 W, with a 2 minutes on, 1 minute off duty cycle. This version has a red coil housing and a white plastic outlet. A worn pump sounds louder, struggles to reach pressure or stops pulling water.

Identify your pump

Ulka makes several pumps that look alike, so check your old label. The EP5 has a plastic outlet; the EX5 has a brass one, and the GW versions have a white coil housing. Match the type, voltage and outlet so the hoses and fittings connect without changes.
