Unlike a standard flat tamper, this one has concentric grooves machined into its 51 mm stainless face. The rings press a textured pattern into the top of the puck, which some baristas prefer for how water spreads across the surface.

Wood handle, polished collar

The handle is a warm reddish timber with a rounded top that fills the palm. A polished stainless collar joins it to the base. It is a distinctive tool for someone who already tamps well and wants to try a different puck surface. Brush out the grooves with a dry cloth now and then.
