54 mm Backflush Cleaning Disc for Breville – Silicone Blind Insert

Cleaning disc for 54 mm Breville machines

Breville’s 54 mm machines clean their group by backflushing with a rubber disc instead of a separate blind basket. This grey silicone disc drops into your existing single or double basket and blocks the holes. It suits models BES500, BES810, BES840, BES860, BES870, BES878 and BES880.

How it works

With the disc in place, water cannot pass through the basket, so pressure builds and the machine pushes water back through the shower screen. A small tab on the top lets you lift the disc out after use. Flip it over and it seals the same way on either side.

Using it

Breville suggests a cleaning cycle every two to three months, using a cleaning tablet with the disc. You will find tablets in our coffee cleaning products, and the steps are in our guide to backflushing. Own a 58 mm Breville? Choose the 58 mm Breville cleaning disc instead.
