55 mm Espresso Filter Basket – 21 g, 66 mm Rim, 32 mm Deep

Extra depth for a bigger dose

Built for 55 mm portafilters, this basket is 32 mm deep so it can hold 18 to 21 g of ground coffee. That extra room is useful for strong milk drinks or when you want a higher-dose recipe. The rim is 66 mm in diameter.

Why the depth matters

A taller wall leaves headspace above a larger puck, so the shower screen is less likely to press into the coffee. The body is formed from stainless steel with a smooth, slightly rounded base and an even field of holes. Expect to grind a little coarser than with a shallower basket.

Picking the right basket

For a standard 18 g double in the same size, see the shallower 55 mm 18 g basket. A deeper basket also benefits from a distribution tool to level the grounds before tamping.

Fresh coffee beans make the most of a high dose, and the rest of our filter baskets cover 51, 54 and 58 mm machines.
