Brass Anti-Vacuum Valve, 3/8″ BSP
When a boiler cools, steam condenses and pulls a vacuum that can draw milk back through the wand. The anti-vacuum valve lets air in as the boiler cools and closes again once pressure builds. This version is solid brass with a 3/8″ BSP thread and a hex body.
Plain stem version
It has a sprung piston with a black O-ring on the boiler side and a short threaded stem on top. There is no weight cap, which separates it from the weighted variant below. A tired valve hisses constantly or lets the boiler run flat, so it is worth replacing at service time.

Machines it suits
The old listing names Rancilio Classe 7 E/S (standard, compact and tall), Classe 9 S and USB, Xcelsius, and Epoca E/S 1 and 2-group. If your old valve has a brass cap on top, choose the anti-vacuum valve with weight instead. While the group is apart, consider a fresh Rancilio group head seal.
