Gaggia Classic UP: precision for the serious home barista
The Classic UP takes the familiar Gaggia shape and gives it the controls enthusiasts usually add with aftermarket kits. One PID manages the brew temperature, which you can set in single-degree steps, while a second looks after steam. The current boiler temperature shows on a 2-inch colour TFT screen, which switches to a shot timer while you pull an espresso.
Built to dial in
Pre-infusion runs automatically at three levels, an analogue gauge shows brew pressure in real time, and a pre-set option lets you fix your target shot time. The boiler is lead-free brass, the 58 mm filter-holder is stainless with the signature “G” handle, and the stainless steam wand moves freely on a fully articulated joint, which makes texturing milk for latte art far easier. Two drip trays are supplied: a standard one and a lower one for tall mugs.
