72 × 56 × 8 mm Group Gasket for Astoria and CMA Machines

Astoria and CMA machines use a slightly smaller group seal than E61 machines, and this one matches it at 72 mm outside, 56 mm inside and 8 mm thick. The face is moulded with the C.M.A. mark and a part number, and the inner wall has small relief notches. A tired seal shows up as coffee dribbling down the side of the handle.

Signs it is time to replace

If the portafilter handle now locks well past centre, or you see water at the rim during a shot, the seal has shrunk and hardened. Fitting a new one restores a tight closure and steady pressure. Clean the group with a brush before pushing the new ring in evenly.
