Manual-Reset Safety Thermostat, 165 °C

This is a safety thermostat: if the boiler runs dry or a pressurestat sticks, it trips at 165 °C and cuts power to the element. It must then be reset by pressing the black button on top. If your machine goes dead and comes back after a reset, the cause still needs finding.

Mounting and reset

The brass hex base has an M4 threaded stud that screws into the boiler, and the two vertical spade terminals take the existing wiring. The reset button is easy to reach, which is handy when diagnosing. Never bypass a safety thermostat.

Vibiemme owners may also need the Domobar infusion valve piston. A sticking pressurestat is a common reason this trips.
