Eureka Pura R: the quiet rotary pump version of the Pura
Take the Pura’s stainless heat exchanger, E61 group and sturdy metal frame, then swap in a rotary pump: that is the Pura R. The motor hums rather than buzzes, and it holds pressure more steadily from shot to shot, which shows in the cup.
Why the rotary pump matters
Vibration pumps are cheaper, but a rotary unit runs more smoothly and tends to last longer under regular use. On the Pura R it feeds a 1.5-litre boiler that supplies brew water and steam together, so a flat white does not mean waiting between steps. The brass E61 group soaks the coffee briefly before full pressure arrives.
Daily routine
Allow about 10–15 minutes after power-on. The 2-litre tank lifts out and carries an internal sensor that stops the machine running dry, and the 1-litre drip tray pulls straight out from the front. Insulated steam and water wands reduce the risk of burnt fingers.
