Rubber group gasket for Gaggia machines

Gaggia’s standard 58 mm group uses a 72 × 57 mm gasket. When the portafilter starts locking past centre or coffee leaks down the side, this is the part to change.

Flat black rubber

It is a plain flat ring in black rubber, 8.5 mm thick, as originally fitted to many Gaggias. Rubber hardens with heat over time, so check it at least once a year and replace it at the first sign of cracking. Remove the shower screen before prising out the old gasket, and clean the seat thoroughly so the new ring sits flat.
