Blue Silicone Seal for the Gaggia Classic

This blue silicone seal is moulded by REPA to the Gaggia size of 72 × 57 × 8.5 mm, and the size is embossed on the ring. If coffee or water seeps around the portafilter, or the handle turns further than it used to, the old seal has hardened and needs replacing.

Why silicone

Silicone stays soft through years of heat cycles and has no taste or smell. The blue colour stands out against the group, so you can see when it needs a clean. Plan to change it every six to twelve months if you make several coffees a day.
