Steam tap knob for older Gaggia Classics
Steam knobs crack with heat and constant turning, and a split knob can slip on the spindle so the valve will not open. This replacement pushes straight onto the tap. The knob simply pulls off and the new one presses on.
D-shaped bore, embossed face
The knob is a short black cylinder with an embossed steam symbol on the face. Inside, a ribbed hub with a D-shaped hole grips the valve spindle without a grub screw. A worn or split knob can make the steam valve feel loose even when the valve itself is fine. Replacing the knob first is a cheap test before you consider the valve.
