Kees van der Westen Speedster: a full commercial machine in a 480 mm footprint
The Speedster proves a single group can still be a serious workhorse. It fits a short bench or a corner of a restaurant bar, yet carries the same class of internals found in much larger Kees van der Westen machines.
Heating and plumbing
Brew water comes from its own 2.1-litre boiler, heated independently of the 3.5-litre steam boiler. Both are stainless. A commercial PID drives solid-state relays, so heating responds fast with no clicking contacts to wear out, and you can tune brew temperature to each roast. An external rotary pump and motor supply steady pressure, while a stainless solenoid valve and self-bleeding group look after flow.
Using it every day
A shift lever starts the group and gives a pre-infusion stage before full extraction. A shot timer helps staff stay consistent, and the drip tray can be raised or lowered for glasses and takeaway cups.
Visually, milled aircraft-grade aluminium side panels are painted in a contrast colour of your choice, over a body of engine-turned stainless or crackle black powder coat.

Who suits the Speedster?
Pick it for a low-to-moderate volume venue that still wants café-grade results, or a premium workplace kitchen. If you want pressure profiling, see the Speedster Idro-matic. Explore other commercial espresso machines and keep a commercial grinder beside it.
Our technicians install the Speedster across Melbourne and offer maintenance and repair for the long run. Buying outright suits many venues, though you are welcome to ask about rental (terms and conditions apply). To arrange a chat, phone 1300 529 505.
