Brass 1/8″ Non-Return Valve

A non-return valve lets water flow one way only, usually from the pump into the boiler, so pressure cannot push water back into the tank. This brass valve has 1/8″ male threads on both ends and a flow arrow stamped on the hex body. When it fails, the boiler can drain back or the pump struggles to prime.

Fitting tips

Install it with the arrow pointing in the direction of flow. The two-piece body unscrews, so the valve can be opened and cleaned if scale builds up. Use thread sealant suitable for potable water on the joints.

Machines it suits

The old listing names Rocket (including Giotto), ECM, Fiorenzato, Gaggia, Lavazza and Saeco, but these brands use more than one valve, so compare thread size and length with your old part. Rocket owners may also need the Rocket steam and hot water valve rod. Scale is the usual cause of failure, so add an inline inlet filter.
