Brugnetti Giulietta: a hand-built E61 machine for the home bench
Brugnetti is an Italian maker, and the Giulietta is its compact one-group model for people who enjoy pulling shots by hand. A chrome-plated brass E61 group opens with a lever, letting a short pre-infusion wet the puck before full pressure arrives, which tends to give a rounder, more even cup.
Brew and steam together
Inside sits a 3-litre heat exchanger boiler. Fresh water for each shot is drawn through the exchanger while the boiler holds steam, so you can foam milk for a flat white straight after extraction with little waiting. A pressurestat with adjustment lets you nudge the boiler temperature to suit the roast in your hopper.
Rotary pump and flexible water supply
A commercial-grade rotary pump keeps brew pressure steady and runs far more quietly than a vibration unit. Fill the 2.8-litre reservoir, or plumb the machine into a mains line if your kitchen allows it.
