Piston O-ring for DeLonghi brew units

On DeLonghi bean-to-cup machines the brew unit piston is sealed by a single red O-ring. When it flattens, water leaks around the piston, the puck comes out wet and the coffee turns thin. Fixing it early also protects the brew unit from wear.

Heat-tolerant silicone

This ring is moulded from red silicone. Remove the brew unit, roll the old ring off the piston, wipe the groove and fit the new one with a light film of food-safe grease. This is one of the most common wear parts on DeLonghi automatics and costs far less than a replacement brew unit. Rinse the brew unit under warm water weekly to stop coffee grounds wearing the new ring.
