Macap Leo 55: Italian quality for the home
Macap has made grinders in Italy for decades. The Leo 55 brings that experience to a compact, quiet home model.
Why a quieter grinder helps at home
The Silent System on the Leo 55 makes sense in homes where coffee is made early, or in open-plan spaces where noise carries. Its micrometric Double Face disk is best used in small movements: when a shot runs fast, turn slightly finer and pull another before changing again. Knowing its grinding output of roughly 1.8–2.2 g/s, you can estimate a grind time for your dose and then confirm it on scales. The adjustable fork lets you switch between a portafilter and a cup without holding either. Treat the flat burrs as a wear part that will need replacing after heavy use, and brush out the chute regularly.
Thoughtful details
The fork adjusts in height for different cups and portafilters, and the Double Face disk makes micrometric adjustment intuitive.
