Brass Pin-Type 1/4″ Anti-Vacuum Valve
This is the style of anti-vac where a brass pin rises to seal under steam pressure and falls to let air in as the boiler cools. You can often see it move, which makes checking it easy. Anti-vacs like this sit on top of the boiler, usually near the pressure switch.
Two-Piece Brass Body
The valve is solid brass, with a round cap on a double hex body and a 1/4″ male thread. If the pin sticks from scale it may hiss constantly or stay shut, and cleaning only goes so far. Fit it with the machine cold and drained, and seal the thread with PTFE tape so it does not weep.
