Switching between espresso and brewed coffee

The GS30 suits a household that drinks espresso on weekdays and a plunger or pour-over on weekends. Use the push button with the portafilter for espresso, and the rear switch with the grounds cup when you need a larger, coarser batch. Moving between the two means changing the grind setting a long way, so note where your espresso setting sits before you go coarser and you can return to it quickly. After any big change, grind and discard a small amount to clear old grounds from the chute. Pull a test shot when you return to espresso, as the setting may need a small touch-up.
