Panica Coffee

Breville Coffee Machine Repairs

Plenty of Melbourne households start the day with a Breville, whether it is a manual espresso machine with a built-in grinder or a model that does most of the work for you. When yours stops behaving, Panica Coffee repairs it at our Caulfield South workshop. Drop it off and we will quote before touching anything.

  • Bring it to us: Breville repairs are carried out at our workshop; we do not make home visits.
  • Clear terms: the price is agreed up front, genuine Breville parts are fitted, and every repair has a warranty.
  • Turnaround: most Brevilles are back with you in 3 to 5 days once the quote is approved.

Repair or buy new? Many Breville faults, such as a jammed grinder burr, a leaking group seal or a pump that has lost pressure, are worth repairing on a machine that is otherwise sound. If a thermocoil heater or main control board has failed on an entry-level model, a replacement may make more sense, so check the new models in our machine catalogue alongside our quote.

Why Brevilles end up in our workshop

Breville machines pack a lot into a small footprint: a grinder, a pump, a heating system and electronic controls, often in one compact body. That convenience means more parts that can wear. Most of the Brevilles we see have not failed suddenly; they have drifted, with slower shots, weaker steam or a grinder that clogs, until the owner decides it is time for help.

Faults we diagnose most often

The grinder runs but no coffee comes out

Oily beans and fine grind settings clog the burrs and chute. Sometimes a burr has worn or a small stone has jammed it. We strip and clean the grinder and replace burrs when they are worn.

Coffee comes out cold or barely warm

Breville heaters are sensitive to scale. A scaled heater, failed temperature sensor or loose connection can all cause cool coffee, and each needs a different fix.

Water pools under the machine

Cracked internal hoses, a worn group seal or a water tank valve that no longer closes are the common sources. We find the leak before any parts are ordered.

Weak or no pressure on the gauge

A failing pump, an air lock after the tank runs dry, or a blocked filter basket can drop pressure. We test the pump directly to rule the basket in or out.

Dropping off your Breville

Please phone ahead, then bring the machine to Rear 1/331 North Road, Caulfield South. Access is through the laneway off Bambra Road. Empty the bean hopper, and bring the power cord, water tank, drip tray, portafilter and milk jug if you use one. Drop-offs are welcome from 9 am to 4 pm on weekdays or between 10 am and 1 pm on a Saturday. Once we have assessed the machine you receive a quote; work starts only after you approve it, and we confirm bookings within one business day.

Simple care for a Breville

  • Run the descale cycle when the machine asks for it, using filtered water between descales.
  • Brush the grinder chute and burrs out every few weeks to prevent clogging.
  • Replace the water filter in the tank when it is due.
  • Purge the steam wand after every use so milk does not block it.

Common Breville questions

My Breville says it needs cleaning but still makes coffee. Should I book it in?

Run the cleaning cycle first. If the prompt keeps coming back or coffee quality drops, a service is worth it.

Can you fix the built-in grinder separately?

Yes. Grinder faults are one of the most frequent Breville repairs and are often handled without touching the rest of the machine.

For a Breville that is not working as it should, book a repair or call 1300 529 505.
