Wega Coffee Machine Repairs
Since 1985 Wega has turned out espresso machines in Italy, from the E61 Mini Nova to the volumetric Atlas, Pegaso and Polaris. We repair Wega machines at Melbourne cafés and workplaces on site, checking pumps, seals, heating and the EVD electronics without asking you to unplumb anything.
- On your premises: a technician diagnoses and repairs the Wega at your counter or office kitchen, with no freight involved.
- No surprises: quote approved before work begins, genuine Wega parts fitted, and every repair backed by our warranty.
- How soon: 4–24 hours if you are within 30 km of Caulfield South; 24–48 hours further out.
Repair or buy new? Worn group seals, a tired pump, a sticking valve or a failed thermostat are all sensible fixes on a Wega. A replacement starts to make more sense when an older machine needs a new control board and boiler work at the same visit. In that case, compare the quote with the new Wega machines in our shop.

Which Wega machines we see
Wega built its name in Italy from 1985 onward, and its range covers almost every kind of café. On our call-outs that means E61 heat exchanger models such as the Mini Nova Classic and W Mini, the compact IO and Rover, the volumetric Pegaso, Atlas and Polaris, and the multi-boiler Urban. Most carry the EVD designation, which tells you the dosing is electronic, so a fault can sit in the hydraulics, the electronics or both.
Questions Wega owners ask us
Why is there water under my Wega?
The usual suspects are a group gasket gone hard, a worn pump seal or a loose fitting on the hydraulic line. We find the source before replacing anything, because a leak near the pump can look like a leak from the group.
My shots are thin one minute and bitter the next. What is happening?
Brew pressure that will not hold steady comes from the pump, the expansion valve or the pressure regulation. A weak pump gives watery shots; a valve stuck closed can push extraction too far. We gauge the pressure at the group and set it back to specification.
The display or buttons have stopped responding. Is the machine finished?
Not usually. On EVD and Tron models, dead keypads and error messages often trace back to a loose connector, a failed flowmeter or water reaching the wiring. A control board is replaced only when testing shows it is the cause.
The water is no longer hot enough. Can that be fixed on the spot?
Yes, in most cases. A failed heating element or thermostat is a common Wega repair, and the technician confirms which one it is with a meter before ordering anything.
From phone call to finished repair
Ring 1300 529 505, email info@panica.com.au or book a repair on the website. A booking is confirmed within one business day, and it helps us a great deal if you tell us the model name and whether the machine is a one, two or three group. The technician then visits, runs the machine, explains the fault in plain words and quotes. Work goes ahead only once you say yes. Where a genuine part needs ordering, we arrange a return visit to fit it, then test the machine through several shots and steam cycles before signing off under our warranty.
Looking after a Wega between services
- Backflush with detergent daily on E61 groups; on volumetric models, follow the cleaning cycle in the menu.
- Soak portafilters and baskets weekly so coffee oil does not harden.
- Watch the pressure gauge; a change from its usual reading is an early warning worth a call.
When the Wega needs attention, book a repair or call 1300 529 505 and we will send someone out.
