Steam valves that stiffen or will not shut

Sanremo steam valves need their seals and moving parts lubricated now and then. Left alone, the knob grows stiff, the wand weeps, or the steam turns wet. Rebuilding the valve brings back dry, strong steam.

Leaks from the group head

Water escaping around the portafilter during extraction usually means the group gasket has hardened. We replace the gasket and shower screen together and check the group for a solid seal.

Pressure that wanders

If the boiler gauge creeps up or sags, the pressurestat may have drifted, or a pump is losing strength. We test both and adjust or replace as needed so extraction stays even through a rush.

Scale in the hydraulic circuit

Hard deposits narrow the jets and coat the elements, slowing flow and heating. Descaling and clearing the flow paths protects the boilers, and a fresh filter cartridge afterwards keeps the problem from returning quickly on a machine that brews from open to close.

Display or sensor faults

On electronic models, a warning that will not clear can come from a probe, a sensor or the board itself. Testing tells us which before anything is ordered.
